  • Repair History: Records of past repairs and services provided to your Device.

  • Communication Records: Notes from phone calls, emails, messages related to your repair.

  • Optional Information: Any additional details you choose to provide (e.g., device passcode for testing, though we strongly recommend removing it).

3. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use your personal information primarily for the following purposes:

  • To Provide Repair Services: To diagnose, repair, and test your Device, manage parts ordering, and track repair progress.

  • To Communicate With You: To provide updates on your repair status, offer estimates, request approvals, and notify you when your Device is ready for pickup.

  • To Process Payments: To complete financial transactions for services rendered.

  • To Maintain Records: For warranty purposes, customer service inquiries, and internal business operations.

  • For Security & Accountability: Our premises and repair areas are under surveillance (video monitoring) to ensure the security of your Device and the integrity of our operations.

  • To Comply with Legal Obligations: To meet requirements under Quebec and Canadian laws, including those related to unclaimed property (see our Terms & Conditions).

4. How We Protect Your Personal Information

Fix Moi implements robust physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information:

  • Secure Systems: We use industry-standard software (CellStore) with built-in security features for managing customer and repair data.

  • Access Controls: Access to personal information is restricted to authorized employees who require it to perform their job duties.

  • Employee Training: All employees are trained on our privacy policies and procedures and their obligations to protect your data.

  • Physical Security: Our premises are secured, and customer devices are stored in designated, secure areas.

  • Data Minimization: We collect and retain only the information necessary for the identified purposes and for the duration required by law or legitimate business needs.

  • Secure Data Destruction: For unclaimed devices that become our property, all personal data on the Device is securely erased or physically destroyed before repurposing or recycling.

5. Handling of Data on Your Device

When you bring your device to Fix Moi for repair:

  • Data Backup is Your Responsibility: We strongly recommend that you back up all your data before submitting your Device for repair. While we take precautions, we cannot be held responsible for any data loss that may occur during the repair process.

  • Limited Access: Our technicians will only access the necessary functions of your Device required for diagnosis and repair. They are strictly prohibited from accessing, copying, or sharing your personal files, photos, messages, or any other private data.

  • Privacy Under Surveillance: Our repair areas are under surveillance, which acts as an additional layer of accountability for data handling on customer devices.

6. Disclosure of Personal Information

Fix Moi does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may disclose your personal information only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: To third-party service providers (e.g., payment processors, shipping companies) who require the information to perform services on our behalf. These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and legal obligations to protect your data.

  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority (e.g., CNESST, OPC, law enforcement agencies).

  • With Your Consent: For any other purpose not outlined here, with your explicit consent.
